About 4 months ago, I realized that my laptop had become suddenly very slow and then I found that actually my Windows 10 was getting extremely slow. The mouse cursor was lagging behind, icon and thumbnails were showing very late and programs were also slow and not responding in Windows 10. Moreover, a mouse click was taking about minutes to open something.
In 2017, I got my laptop and there was Windows 10 pre-installed in it and that windows 10, I remember was very fast. Now today in 2019 or 2020, Windows 10 is very slow and unresponsive. Why?
I started to search on google about why is my windows 10 so slow and how to fix slow windows 10 in computer or laptop and so got many common methods and tips which I used but literally nothing worked. I also installed Windows 10 again and again but nothing worked and again that slowness was there for me.
So, today I’m going to tell you how to fix slow Windows 10 in your computer or laptop if it is lagging behind at every cursor click.
Common Lapses of Windows 10
If the below written symptoms are also showing in your device, then definitely you are suffering from a slow and lagging Windows 10 in your computer, PC or laptop.
1) Mouse cursor lagging behind
2) Clicking something take minutes
3) Thumbnails showing slowly
4) Icons lagging behind
5) Shutdown and restart taking time
6) Opening a video take minutes
7) Slow internet browsing
Moreover, let me also tell you my laptop specs so that you may not think that I have a low spec laptop not compatible for Windows 10.
Specs of My Laptop
1) 8 GB RAM
2) 500 GB HDD
3) Intel Integrated Graphics
4) Intel Core i7 7th Generation Processor
So as you can see above, my specs are very much compatible for installing Microsoft Windows 10. But still why today, my laptop is lagging behind and is very slow having windows 10 which was also there pre-installed when I got my laptop.
So no need to worry if Windows 10 has slowed down your computer. Nothing has happened to your device’s hardware. There is just a problem in your software or OS. Because after latest Windows 10 update, your computer has become slower.
Steps to Speed Up Slow and Lagging Windows 10
So, basically there are only two steps you have to do to speed up your laptop or PC and Windows 10 if your Win 10 performance is poor. The first step you may not find suitable but literally I bet, it is the one going to work.
“You have to install a new Windows 10 but this time an older version“.
Yes, you have to install a new Windows 10 but this time not with latest updates. Literally, these latest updates are making your PC or Laptop very slow. These updates are based on latest specs of devices but like me if you have a little older device, then you definitely have to install an older version of Windows 10 if your Windows 10 is running very slow. This first step is 100% guaranteed working as I suffered from this problem and now everything is fine.
After installing Windows 10, you just have to check “Pause Updates” option in Update settings. That’s it, after completing this first step, you will shortly begin to realize that your Laptop or PC performance has improved a lot.
Step 2 is actually optional. If you want much more performance after Step 1, then you should also do Step 2. But if you are satisfied after Step 1, then it’s OK and no need to complete Step 2.
For more performance, follow these further steps.
1) Right click on “My PC” in desktop and select “Properties”
2) After this, select “Advanced System Settings” in the upper left side menu
3) Then select “Advanced” tab
4) Then in “Performance” box, select “Settings”.
5) Now just check the option “Adjust For Best Performance”.
6) In the end, “Apply” these settings and restart your computer. That’s it!
These two steps are 100% working and the only guarantee is mine because I suffered from this problem and now I’m very much satisfied by my laptop’s performance. You will get many tips and tricks on google on windows 10 running slow topic but nothing is going to work.
The main issue is with the latest updates. When you get rid off these updates, that is, then everything is going to be fine. So, this was the answer of how to fix your slow and lagging Windows 10 in your computer or laptop.
